FIJI Outrigger hosted its season final regatta for 2008 on Saturday where the Nadi Bay Canoe Club paddled it way to success.
The final regatta hosted by FO was a changeover race that saw all five teams start from Suva foreshore and paddle their way to Pacific Harbour.
This was the first time Fiji Outrigger hosted a changeover race over the 45-kilometre distance.
Five affiliated clubs of Fiji Outrigger each put forward a mixed team of 10 paddlers.
All teams raced in the new Fijian designed and built "Mana" canoe which was launched in early 2007 with Samoa adopting this canoe design for the South Pacific Games.
FO reminded all current, past and new paddlers that the sprint season will begin in mid-February.
That will lead up to Fiji Outrigger's largest paddling event, The Wai Tui Fiji Outrigger International that is scheduled to run from April 10-13.
Following that, the V6 and V1 marathon season will run from May to October.
