Rivers Fiji

Rivers Fiji was established in 1998.

Whether you're an experienced whitewater veteran or a complete novice they have a variety of options to accommodate a range of skill and interest levels. They explore class II-III whitewater aboard inflatable kayaks and whitewater rafts, experiencing some of Fiji's most spectacular terrain by floating in relative comfort along two of the country's premier liquid pathways, the Upper Navua Gorge and Wainikoroiluva.Rivers Fiji also offer a number of other Fiji adventures. Sea kayak amid turquoise blue waters, snorkel incredible coral reefs, kayak through a lush mangrove forest on the Deuba Coastal Sea Kayak trip...

Wherever possible Rivers Fiji works with locally owned/operated businesses to run their programs (eg., truck and boat shuttles, food purchases). They work hard to ensure that our business does not detract from services already in existence by duplicating services. They encourage the development of support businesses by contracting these services wherever possible.
In addition to the obvious benefits associated with employment opportunities with Rivers Fiji, they also pay a user fee to the native land owners to provide benefits directly to village life and in an effort to encourage their support of sustainable tourism products by protecting their pristine landscapes and waterways.
Rivers Fiji has worked closely with the University of the South Pacific to conduct an impact analysis of their tourism program on the local communities. They have used this information in the development of policies and best practices in the areas they operate trips. They hope that this information is used as a model for future developments inspired by local villagers in the region.

Kite Surfing

Kitesurfing, also known as kite surfing, fly surfing, and kiteboarding, involves using a power kite to pull the rider through the water on a small surfboard, a wakeboard, or a kiteboard.
A kitesurfer uses a board with foot-straps or bindings, combined with the power of a large controllable kite to propel himself and the board across the water.
However, this simplicity also makes kitesurfing challenging.
A kitesurfer's body is the only connection between the kite and the board. The kite is piloted in the sky while the board is steered on the water.
The sport is still in its infancy, but is rapidly growing in popularity. Kite Surfing in Fiji is slowly on the rise, and in Pacific Harbour most weekends you will find a few adventurous souls taking on the elements.

The Uprising Beach Resort

Since opening its doors in February, 2007, The Uprising Beach Resort has become known as one of the coolest places to be in Fiji. The atmosphere is mind blowing. Sitting at the bar and restaurant, looking over at the crystal clear waters of Beqa Lagoon you find yourself at peace in your gorgeous surroundings. If you feel like a bit of adventure, hire one of the jet skis that are stationed on the beach, or jump on the banana boat and enjoy a wild ride. The crew at the Uprising have discovered a new sport to have fun on the beach, "horse boarding"! Find your balance and jump on the wake board that is attached to the horses saddle and have fun!! You can also go skiing or wake boarding behind the jet skis!

The barbeques on offer at the weekends are a blend of traditional Fijian foods with the traditional Aussie BBQ foods, and at a great price, you will not go hungry! The restaurant serves up some tasty seafood delights, and the other tasty treats on the menu will leave you feeling satisfied. Ask the friendly bar tenders to mix you up some delicious fruity blends, with or without alcohol, or just enjoy that Fiji Bitter or local Fiji Rum while you enjoy the incredible ambience. The coffee served here is without doubt some of the best coffees available in Fiji.
The Uprising is run entirely by locals. The owner of this resort, and all the staff, pride themselves on being able to give you what you want with that world wide known Fijian hospitality, and always with a smile.
The guests at the Uprising are a blend of locals who cannot drag themselves away and new and interesting over seas guests flying in and out daily. Spending a day here is a holiday all in itself.
